Tips for SALARIES

Individual salaries are a matter of negotiation and it is probably fair so say that most employers are actively trying to avoid wage inflation. Reducing existing salaries however is very difficult and is likely to have a negative effect on staff morale and therefore productivity.

The 1% Challenge encourages employers to look at their wages bill as a whole and look for more creative ways of reducing costs. Our favourite cost saving idea is to seek employees who would be happy to work a shorter week. This is a win/win as both parties are happy with the outcome. Employees are happy to work less and employers are happy to be saving costs. The bonus for employers is that there is not an equivalent reduction in effectiveness.
