Tips for ADMINISTRATION

Whilst adminitrative costs are rarely adding value to your offering, they are mostly unavoidable. As such they don't tend to come under too much scrutiny in the day to day running of a business. Another problem here is that unlike say a production process, administrative activities are not easily measurable.

A key objective of the 1% Challenge is to identify potential for improvement to processes. Administration is an area of great potential for improvements as it is an area that is often not considered as core to the business. A key area for improvement in administration is internal communications. Poor internal communications can lead to a variety of problems from clarification being required, duplication and missed opportunities to orders being fulfilled incorrectly. This is an area where there are always improvements to be made.
