Key Tip for PRODUCTIVITY

When we think of productivity we probably first think about a manufacturing company - say a car manufacturer. In this case productivity is easily measurable. If a car manufacturer produces 1200 cars per day, to become 1% more productive they need to produce 1212 cars. To achieve this, tools like lean manufacturing can be deployed. Where productivity is less measurable then things become a little more difficult.

My tip for productivity stems from my experience of moving from working 5 days per week to working just 4. Did my productivity drop pro-rata by 20%? No it didn't and the reason why it didn't is that it is only the less important things that no longer get done. Things that really matter still do get done. So find a way to not do the unimportant stuff and you will become more productive.
